Swingin’ Safari
ARE YOU READY FOR A “WILD” TIME ?! Then load the family in the jeep and trek down to the Lyons Public Library for “SWINGIN’ SAFARI” family night on April 19th, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Come help capture the “wild things” which will be lurking about as you travel through the jungle and the African grassland. Keep your eyes open and have a swingin’ good time as you hunt them down!
Be sure and register when you arrive and get your safari map and binoculars for your animal search. You can seize some snakes in a Sneaky Snake Snatch, help capture the lions and tigers as you stun them in a Sleepy Time Shoot, and feed a bunch of howling monkeys as you take care of Monkey Business.
Don’t miss the 7:15 performance of “Rumble in the Jungle,” a short play based on the Little Golden Book, “The Tawny Scrawny Lion”. It will feature local physician, Dr. Roger Tobias, as the lion along with other jungle animals.
It’s sure to be an evening of fun for the whole family with a “big catch” of prizes to be given away, a photo opportunity in the Jungle Jeep Ride, crafts, snacks, and a chance to “bag” some goodies.
Don’t miss your chance to snare some fun at an exciting evening celebrating literacy at the library. Doors will open at 6:30.
Please note, children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
