Lyons Public Library and Rice County Historical Society will once again co-host the annual Kansas Day Program. Featured speakers are Amy Bickel, agricultural journalist and editor of Kansas Agland, and Kathy Hanks, a journalist with The Hutchinson News. Together Amy and Kathy share a passion for covering the state’s history as well as timely contemporary issues. They cover everything from dead towns to love stories as they explore rural culture, traveling the byways and backroads of the state. They will be discussing what Kansas means to them and how it has been shaped through the people they meet and the places they travel for their stories. Learn about their latest endeavor of transforming storytelling from the written word to a weekly podcast that is being shared with High Plains Public Radio as they reach a broader audience. Join us at the library on Monday January 25 at 7:00 pm for this free program.
